France, very close to my parents' place.
This field symbolizes one the thing that I cherish the most in my life: my home town, nestled in the Alpes, close to Provence, Italy, and the Mediterranean Sea. I miss the long sunny days, empty fields surrounded by wildflowers and mountains. I miss my family and our peaceful afternoons, sunbathing, chatting, or exploring short rocky trails located near my parents' house.
What have I done these past 10 years, since I left my beloved France? I explored different job opportunities in North America, married, became a mother (twice). I grew a bit wiser by listening to other people's personal stories. I learned about their losses, their fights, their resilience, their search for a place to belong. All these stories have shifted my perspectives about my personal desire to explore new countries and to live so far from the people I loved the most. This journey away helped me clarify what I value, and how I envision my life: connected, nurtured and nurturing, hopeful, and serene.
Today, as I finish a long day of work, I'm embracing the unknown, the journey of learnings and discovery, ahead of me.
